You studied the tenses. Why do they still feel like a maze?

Many people have spent years with English grammar at school or university and can still not say what they mean. You may recognise a sentence when you hear it, yet freeze when you have to build one. Present Perfect, Past Perfect Continuous and the different ways to talk about the future blur into one confusing pile of rules.

The problem is rarely a lack of effort. Most explanations show a table of forms and a few examples, then move on. They rarely explain the logic behind a tense: what the speaker wants to say, and why one tense fits and another does not. Without that logic, you guess, and guessing under pressure leads to the same mistakes again and again.

This course takes a different route. Each of the twelve tenses gets its own detailed video lesson. The lessons explain the meaning first, then the form, then the typical traps. After that you practise on a large set of exercises collected from the best grammar textbooks, so the understanding becomes automatic.

The aim is simple: to replace vague feelings about grammar with a clear system in your head, where every tense has its place and its purpose.

What you will be able to do

After working through the lessons and exercises, you will be able to:

  • Explain the difference between all 12 tenses

You will know what each tense expresses and how it differs from its neighbours.

  • Choose the right tense for the situation

You will stop guessing and start deciding based on meaning and time markers.

  • Build correct sentences in every tense

Affirmative, negative and question forms become routine rather than a puzzle.

  • Use Present Perfect without stress

You will see when it connects the past with the present and when it does not.

  • Talk about plans and intentions accurately

You will tell apart the ways English speaks about the future.

  • Spot tense mistakes in your own speech and writing

You will notice errors as you make them and correct them on the spot.

  • Understand spoken and written English more precisely

You will catch the shade of meaning that the tense adds to a sentence.

  • Use prepositions of time correctly

A bonus lesson covers the small words that so often go with tenses.

  • Review the whole system on your own

A collection of revision exercises helps you keep everything fresh.

The idea behind the lessons

The lessons are built around a simple principle: learn the meaning of a tense before you memorise its form. When you know what a speaker is trying to express, the form becomes a tool rather than something to cram. Each lesson therefore starts from real communication needs and moves toward the grammar rules that serve them.

Every video is a detailed walk-through of one tense. It covers when the tense is used, how it is formed, which time markers usually go with it, and the mistakes learners most often make. The explanations rely on plain language and on material gathered from many textbooks, so you get the clearest version of each rule instead of a single book's point of view.

After the video, you move to exercises. The set of 500 tasks is taken from well-known textbooks and ranges from simple form drills to tasks that make you choose between tenses. This second step is where understanding turns into skill, so we recommend you do not skip it.

Because the course is rich in explanation and light on filler, the lessons are meant to be watched, paused and rewatched. You can return to any tense whenever a doubt appears in real life.

How the course works

The course is self-paced. You receive access to the video lessons and exercises, and you decide when to study. The suggested pace is three to four months, depending on how intensively you work. Some learners move faster and some take longer, and both approaches are fine.

A sensible routine is to watch one lesson, then spend several sessions on the matching exercises before you go to the next tense. Short, regular sessions work better than a single long weekend, because grammar sticks through repetition.

The lessons are available on any device with an internet connection, from anywhere and at any time. You can study on a laptop at home, or watch a video on your phone during a commute. Support is available if you get stuck, so a hard question does not have to stop your progress.

At the end you have the revision collection, which brings the whole system back together in one set of exercises. It is useful straight after the course and again months later, when you want to check that everything is still in place.

Is this course for you?

This course is for you if…

  • You studied English at school or university but cannot hold a conversation.
  • You have forgotten much of your English and want to refresh it properly.
  • You understand speech but cannot speak freely because tenses get in the way.
  • You are a school or university student who wants to understand and review the material better.
  • You teach English and would like fresh ways to explain some of the rules.

Probably not a fit if…

  • You are looking for a course that teaches speaking through live conversation practice.
  • You have never studied English and need to start from the alphabet and basic vocabulary.
  • You want a quick overview in an hour rather than a thorough study of every tense.
  • You expect results without doing the exercises.

After the course

When you finish, tenses stop being a list of rules and become a system you understand. You know what each one is for and how it relates to the others. A sentence that once made you hesitate now builds itself from the meaning you want to express.

You also read and listen differently. When you meet a tense in a film, an article or a conversation, you understand why the speaker chose it and what it adds. This precision helps you read with fewer misunderstandings.

Most of all, you gain a reliable base for further study. Vocabulary, listening and speaking practice all work better when the grammar is in order, and you can return to any lesson or to the revision collection whenever you need a reminder.

Questions before you buy

How much time do I need each week?

The suggested pace is three to four months for the whole course. That usually means a few short sessions per week: one video lesson and then some exercises. If you have more time you can finish sooner.

Do I need any prior knowledge?

The course suits learners who already know the basics, because it builds on what you have studied before. If you can read simple sentences and have met the main tenses at school, you are ready to start.

How does access work after payment?

Once your payment is confirmed, you receive access to the course materials. You can log in from any device and study at the times that suit you.

What is your refund policy?

You can request a refund within 14 days of purchase. If the course does not suit you, contact support in that period and we will arrange it.

What format are the lessons?

The core is recorded video lessons, one for each tense, supported by written grammar exercises and a revision collection. You can pause and rewatch whenever you like.

Does the material stay available?

Yes. The course is designed for long-term use, so you can return to the lessons and exercises whenever you want to review a tense.

Can I study on my phone?

Yes. The lessons work on any device with an internet connection, so you can watch on a phone, tablet or computer.

Is the course suitable for teachers?
