When life feels like it belongs to someone else

Many people reach a point where they run on empty. There is a constant stream of other people's wishes, demands and opinions, and you pass yourself through it like water through a sieve. You are tired, the list of obligations keeps growing, and somewhere along the way the question appears: is this really my life?

It often goes together with quieter signs. You find it hard to say what you feel, let alone what you want. Even when you do know, you are convinced you should act differently. You criticise yourself for everything that is not perfect, compare yourself with others and look for approval before every decision. Nothing seems to bring real joy, and the same painful patterns in relationships keep returning.

This course was built for exactly that situation. It does not ask you to become somebody else or to push yourself harder. It invites you to meet yourself: to notice what is going on inside, to understand where your habits of self-criticism, fear and over-obligation come from, and to start building a calmer, more respectful relationship with yourself.

The sessions are long and unhurried. Each one takes a single theme and works through it in depth, so that you have time to recognise yourself in the material and to try the ideas in your own life rather than just listen to them.

What you will be able to do

The programme is organised around the changes most participants are looking for.

  • Build a healthier self-esteem

Notice when you criticise yourself, compare yourself with others or judge yourself through other people's eyes, and learn how to respond differently.

  • Ask for respectful treatment

Stand up for your rights and boundaries with dignity instead of mistaking endurance for humility.

  • Recognise and use your strengths

Shift attention from what is missing to what already works, and face the feeling of being an impostor.

  • Name what you feel and want

Understand your feelings and needs, make choices more easily and rely less on outside approval.

  • Say no and set boundaries

Refuse requests you cannot or do not want to fulfil, without feeling that your worth depends on saying yes.

  • Loosen the grip of fear and old beliefs

Identify the convictions that decide the outcome in advance and give yourself room to try.

  • Work with shame and guilt

Understand how these two feelings work and what they do to your energy and decisions.

  • Understand your relationships with others

See your own part in recurring situations and practise forgiveness where it is possible.

Where the course begins

The first theme is a simple but demanding one: being able to say "I am". Before we talk about boundaries, goals or relationships, we look at what it means to have a sense of yourself at all, and why so many capable, caring people lose it under the weight of other people's expectations.

From there the programme moves step by step. We look at the inner critic and where its voice comes from. We meet the inner adult and the inner child and see how they shape your reactions. We explore supports and balance in everyday life, the beliefs that steer your choices, forgiveness, shame and guilt, and finally the way you stand in relation to other people.

Each theme builds on the one before it, so the course works best when followed in order. If you already know that one topic matters most to you, you can return to it as often as you like during your access period.

How the course works

The programme consists of ten sessions, each lasting about two to two and a half hours. They are delivered as video lessons that you watch online, so you can choose your own time and place and pause whenever you need to think or take notes.

Because the sessions are long and rich, we suggest taking one or two per week. That leaves time between lessons to notice how the ideas show up in your day, which is where most of the change happens. If you prefer to move faster or slower, the pace is yours to set within the three months of access.

This is educational psychology for personal development. It is not therapy and does not replace the help of a qualified specialist if you are going through a serious crisis.

Is this course for you?

This course is for you if…

  • You feel tired, flat or without initiative and suspect you are living by other people's expectations.
  • You criticise yourself constantly, compare yourself with others and doubt your abilities.
  • You find it hard to say no, defend your boundaries or ask to be treated with respect.
  • You struggle to name your feelings or to know what you want.
  • You keep ending up in the same kind of difficult relationship and want to understand why.

Probably not a fit if…

  • You are looking for personal consultations or one-to-one sessions; this is a recorded programme.
  • You are in an acute crisis and need professional support; the course is educational and not a substitute for therapy.
  • You want quick tricks without reflection; the sessions ask for honest thinking about yourself.
  • You want a course on a technical or professional skill; this one is about personal development.

After the course

By the end of the programme you will have a clearer picture of how you work: what you feel, what drives your self-criticism, where fear and old convictions steer your choices, and what you need to feel steady.

In daily life, that tends to look like smaller but meaningful shifts. You pause before agreeing to a request. You notice the critical voice and answer it more fairly. You can say what you feel in a conversation without apologising. You carry less guilt for things that were never yours to carry.

None of this happens overnight, and the course does not promise it will. What it gives you is a map and a set of tools. With three months of access you can keep returning to the themes that matter most as your situation changes.

Questions before you order

How much time will I need each week?

Each session lasts about two to two and a half hours. Most people find one or two sessions per week comfortable, plus some time to reflect between lessons. You can set your own pace within the access period.

Do I need any prior knowledge of psychology?

No. The course is written for a general audience, and each theme is explained from the beginning. You only need an interest in understanding yourself better.

How does access work after payment?

Once your payment is confirmed, you receive access to the course online. Access is granted for three months, and you can watch the sessions whenever suits you.

What is your refund policy?

You can request a refund within 14 days of purchase. If the course is not right for you, contact us during that period and we will handle it.

What format are the lessons in?

The lessons are recorded video sessions that you watch online. They can be paused and rewatched, so you can study at your own speed.

Will the material stay available?

Yes, throughout your access period of three months. You can come back to any session as often as you like during that time.

Is this the same as therapy?

No. The programme is educational and aimed at personal development. If you are dealing with serious distress, we recommend also speaking to a qualified professional.

Can I follow the themes in any order?

The themes are designed to build on each other, so we recommend following them in order the first time. Afterwards you can revisit any theme you like.
